Job Description

This Chicago-based role, reporting through PMO Operations, leads the productivity portfolio for procurement-driven cost savings initiatives across North American businesses. The Sr Analyst, Commercialization Productivity partners with Procurement, Finance, and cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D/Value Engineering, Operations) to build and govern the savings pipeline, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure initiatives are tracked and financially validated through delivery The role also supports Value Engineering (e.g., reformulation, packaging changes) portfolio governance, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement productivity portfolio management: Build, maintain, and govern the cost savings pipeline in partnership with Procurement leaders and buyers/category teams; track initiatives from identification through implementation and benefit capture.
  • Savings governance & Finance partnership: Establish and run routines to ensure consistent savings methodology, documentation, forecasting, and Finance validation (e.g., hard savings vs. cost avoidance, timing/phasing, assumptions).
  • Performance reporting & insights: Deliver regular portfolio reporting (pipeline, forecast, realized savings, sufficiency-to-target, risks/issues, decisions needed); provide executive-ready updates.
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management: Identify portfolio risks (timing, execution, adoption, supplier constraints), drive mitigation plans, and escalate as needed to protect delivery.
  • Operating cadence: Create and/or enforce governance routines that link people, processes, and tools to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and integrity of forecasts and reporting.
  • Value Engineering (VE) portfolio support: Review, analyze, and report VE initiatives led by R&D; ensure alignment of cost assumptions, timing, and benefit attribution within the overall productivity portfolio.
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management: Coordinate across Procurement, Finance, PMO, VE, and R&D to resolve conflicts and maintain aligned targets and priorities.
  • Continuous improvement: Improve templates, standards, and ways of working for initiative tracking, benefits capture, and portfolio transparency.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in Direct Procurement (ingredients, packaging, external manufacturing) or related areas (operations, engineering, food science, product/packaging R&D) with demonstrated involvement in cost/productivity initiatives.
  • Strong project/portfolio management skills; able to run routines, manage multiple workstreams, and operate with high autonomy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into clear actions and recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) and ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Advanced Excel skills; strong ability to build leadership-ready presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Procurement PMO/Excellence, productivity program governance, or benefits tracking/realization.
  • Familiarity with savings methodologies and financial validation practices (forecasting, phasing, realization tracking).
  • Experience with ERP/procurement tools and reporting/BI tools (e.g. Power BI/Tableau).

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$89,800.00 - $112,200.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
