Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate cross-enterprise perspectives, risk, value, performance, compliance, competitive insights, external trends into clear implications for MISO’s corporate strategy.
  • Partner closely with Corporate Planning to ensure enterprise-level insights strengthen the development and evolution of MISO’s corporate plan.
  • Assess the corporate plan holistically to highlight gaps, tensions, dependencies, emerging risks, and strategic opportunities.
  • Engage senior leaders as a credible thought partner, constructively challenging assumptions and surfacing alternative viewpoints.
  • Influence across organizational boundaries while honoring the accountability of functional owners and enterprise-process leaders.
  • Translate complex and sometimes conflicting information into concise diagnoses, executive narratives, and strategic choices.
  • Connect corporate-plan priorities to enterprise risks, performance measures, value propositions, and strategic objectives.
  • Continuously refine approaches for applying enterprise strategic lenses to planning processes.
  • Support executive and Board-level discussions with integrated assessments across enterprise perspectives.

What we are looking for…

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12–14+ years of experience in enterprise strategy, risk, analytics, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and leading cross-functional work through influence rather than authority.
  • Ability to synthesize multiple enterprise processes such as ERM, governance, competitive intelligence, performance management into executive-level insights.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort distinguishing signal from noise in complex information.
  • Exceptional strategic storytelling and executive communication capabilities.
  • Skilled in structured problem-solving, enterprise diagnosis, and scenario thinking.
  • Ability to operate confidently in ambiguity and frame enterprise-level questions with clarity.
  • Energy industry experience and relevant certifications (e.g., COSO, Prosci, Lean/Six Sigma) are pluses.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $148,000-173,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
