ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Accountant / Jr. Controller plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for client accounts within a fast-paced growing Private Equity environment. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

As a critical member of a relatively small finance team, the Senior Accountant will partner closely with the CFO overseeing 35+ practices, each with individual general ledgers and bank accounts. This position will support process improvements and collaborate across the finance team to deliver high-quality, timely, and client-focused financial services. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General Ledger Management: Maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries (including various balance sheet accruals), and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Reconciliations: Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing and coordinating the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Preparing Reports: Generating various financial reports and summaries, which are often presented to management to support decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounts Payable Support: As needed support accounts payable processing using Ramp

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 8–10+ years of experience with U.S. GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and strong English skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interface with executive leaders
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong operational execution and project management skills.
  • Small/Medium Business work experience preferred (reports to CFO).
  • Experience with multiple location and GL entities preferred.
