Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role within the Integrated Systems (Title & Escrow) Accounting team, helping to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.

The individual will serve as a proactive business partner, driving process improvements and operational efficiencies while maintaining a strong internal control environment. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the Senior Accountant will support key business initiatives, provide valuable financial insights, and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments and stakeholders to obtain supporting documentation and ensure the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses for assigned accounts, identifying and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Review account reconciliations prepared by staff members or peers for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Execute month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, account analyses, and variance analyses.
• Ensure accounting and financial reporting activities are conducted in compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
• Proactively identify, investigate, and communicate financial, operational, or reporting issues to management, along with recommended solutions.
• Develop financial analyses and reporting tools that enhance visibility, monitoring, and decision-making.
• Lead process improvement initiatives by evaluating existing workflows, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardization, and efficiency gains, and implementing approved enhancements.
• Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to team members on accounting processes, best practices, and technical accounting matters.
• Support management with special projects, ad hoc reporting requests, and business initiatives as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or audit experience preferred.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting controls.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other spreadsheet-type applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or audit experience preferred.
