Reporting to the Assistant GL Accounting Manager, China. This Senior GL Accountant is responsible for providing accurate preparation of information involving compilation, consolidation, and high level analysis of financial data necessary to produce financial statements for Deckers’ subsidiaries in China.
50% General Accounting
• Prepares monthly journal entries on time and maintains sufficient supporting work papers.
• Reconciles and analyzes balance sheet accounts on time and solving open items within proper time.
• Ensure complete and accurate posting of balances from Oracle sub-ledgers including but not limited Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany, Inventory etc.
• Maintain Fixed Assets and Lease accounting.
• Prepares month end provision/accruals, including but not limited Opex, Sales Return, FA impairment etc.
• Investigates unusual transactions, fluctuations and determines appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
• Identify and resolve accounting system errors or inconsistencies, implementing process improvements to prevent recurrence.
30% Reporting and Analysis
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, or PRC GAAP).
• Prepares departmental expenses including trend and budget versus actual analyses.
• Assist in preparing sales margin analysis, provide insights into management decisions.
• Prepares reconciliation between US GAAP and Local GAAP and post proper adjustment if any.
• Develops special reports and ad-hoc analyses.
• Provide related documents for the annual tax file required by tax team.
• Prepare Corp required reports.
20% Additional Responsibilities
• Assist SOX process with internal audits by preparing supporting documentation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support external auditors for U.S. GAAP and local statutory audit process.
• Work with line manager and other team members as well as IT and other departments as necessary for
• continuous process improvement as well as any system issues.
• Support other ad hoc works and projects as it relates to the finance and accounting department.
