Schwarz Digits creates the technological foundation for digital sovereignty in Europe. As the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, we develop and manage the IT infrastructures for the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland, as well as Schwarz Production and PreZero. At the same time, we operate as an independent provider in the external market to support companies across Europe in their digital transformation. We bundle our core services in the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication, and Workspace.

Your profile

• Technical Leadership and decision making: Own and take critical technical decisions for our cross-platform design system while constructively challenging assumptions to help the team evaluate tradeoffs, balance technical debt, and optimize User and Developer Experience.
• People Management: Manage, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team through regular feedback, 1-on-1s, and clear career development plans.
• Delivery Management: Drive squad velocity, monitor sprint KPIs, and balance feature delivery with technical debt alongside the Product Owner.
• Accessibility (A11y): Embed web and native accessibility standards (WCAG, native iOS/Android frameworks) directly into core component design.
• App Release Management: Oversee mobile release lifecycles, store submissions, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane) to ensure predictable, low-risk deployments.

Your skills

• People Leadership: 3+ years directly managing software engineering teams and guiding individual growth.Ability to foster cooperation, motivate team members, ask probing questions, and lead through influence.
• Technical Decision-Making: Proven capability to make sound technical decisions in complex environments, balancing business needs, technical debt, and trade-offs where no single clear solution exists.
• Technical Breadth: Experience across frontend and mobile technologies (React, React Native, Swift/iOS, Kotlin/Android) to guide technical discussions..
• Release Management: Clear understanding of mobile or complex software lifecycles, release automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Nice to Have:
• Practical experience with web and mobile accessibility standards (WCAG, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
• Experience building or maintaining design system component libraries.
• Experience managing technical dependencies in complex, multi-team organizations.
