
Working closely with the director to understand the style of the story, the Hair and Make-Up (HMUA) Department help actors portray their characters by using hair and make-up to create a look. The team work creativity to help create and apply masks, make-up, SFX make-up, wigs, prosthetics, or other ways of transforming an actor's appearance for a role. In assisting the HMUA team you will provide support in their day-to-day work and gain a deeper understanding of the department.

The agency supports locally produced films, series and digital games, and secures international and interstate production and post-production into Queensland. It also runs initiatives to build skills and careers for local screen practitioners, and funds film festivals and industry events and conferences. Screen Queensland also operates Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane and Cairns.
