Job Description

Assistant directors (ADs) are the operational managers coordinating the vision of directors and producers. Working under the direction of the first AD, you’ll assist in maintaining both the daily shooting schedule and overall production timeline. Assistant Directors are the liaison between the director and the crew, and ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly.

The below may be part of your core responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning the filming schedule
  • Script breakdown
  • Working with the Director and Heads of Department to ensure an efficient shoot
  • Tracking daily progress against the production schedule
  • Arranging logistics
  • Assist in preparing daily call sheets
  • Assist in managing the set during production
