Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

To safely and efficiently operate high-pressure water blasting equipment for industrial cleaning, maintenance, and surface preparation. The Hydro Blast Technician ensures compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and environmental standards while supporting plant operations and shutdown activities. This position focuses on delivering high-quality cleaning results, minimizing downtime for critical equipment, and contributing to the reliability, safety, and productivity of the facility.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

1. Make detailed relief with operations, when needed, reporting current condition of equipment being cleaned and problems that may have occurred.
2. Operate cleaning equipment which involves climbing stairs and ladders, and read gauges.
3. Prepare equipment for cleaning, maintenance, & follow-up after repair.
4. Perform work, according to the ESOP to prevent environmental and safety procedures and ensure compliance with the procedures.
5. Monitor the operation condition of the cleaning equipment in all area to ensure a safe working condition.
6. Extensive cleaning of SPVC reactors in a safe manner to reduce the build up and scale in the reactors.
7. Extensive cleaning of other equipment in the SPVC area as needed, in a safe manner.
8. Maintain good general housekeeping and the working area in a clean condition.
9. Utilize computer systems both process and personal.
10. Maintain accurate and concise log sheets and other written documents.
11. Work a 12 hour shift and overtime if needed.
12. Work in confined spaces and heights.
13. Moves chemical drums and various job duties as assigned.
14. Conforms to all OSHA and Environmental agency laws.
15. Abide by the quality policy in regards to ISO 9000 and abide by the Environmental, Health & Safety requirements as they pertain to ISO 14001.
16. Maintain hydro blast equipment in a good and safe working order.
17. Maintain special tools used in a good and safe working order.
18. Inspect the scale, rocks, and plug age conditions of equipment and inform the Shift Supervisor.
19. Also perform various job duties as assigned when not cleaning equipment.
20. Work outside normal shift hours as needed.
21. Maintain regular and reliable attendance
22. Maintain a clean work area per OCS and NTG procedures.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

1. Previous Related Experience Required

High school graduate or equivalent with 18 months of experience in various forms of hydro- blasting. Valid Driver’s License.

2. Operate and set-up all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure pumps, in service line hydro-blasting in accordance with operational and training guidelines and safety procedures.
3. Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
4. Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, industrial settings.
5. Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, gaskets and other external and internal equipment on tanks.
6. Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting a job. Informs supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productions.
7. Maintain good general housekeeping and the working area in a clean condition.

11. Other Certification/Training Required

• Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
• Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.
• Must participate in the following subject training and pass required certifications.
• WJTA *Waterjet Technology Association* Certification is a plus
