This role is a key leadership role particularly for our new print engine and enabler development and our ink and printhead development to underpin or rapidly growing coding and marking and packaging segments. This role provides customer facing opportunities as you partner with our sales and marketing teams to meet and exceed our customer’s needs as part of a P&L Business unit. Manages Manager 1’s across multiple sites.
This role requires excellent networking and collaboration with our MTO and printer platform colleagues and the broader print organizations.
Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of non-exempt/exempt individual contributors. Has accountability for a large multi-department area with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to the Director of Engineering.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead Current Product Engineering Support: Work across internal SPTS to hit revenue and profit goals from current product portfolio while maintaining highest quality levels.
NPI Program Delivery: Develop and commercialize technology that meets program deliverables on schedule per the PDP requirements and market needs.
Leadership: Provide strong leadership for the section across two sites and grow the capabilities of the team. Be a role model for HP’s leadership standards.
Organization Capability: Increase the capability of the organization and identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and faster time to market.
Business/Market Understanding: Understand market needs and provide leadership in developing cohesive strategies with our Marketing and Sales teams and ensure alignment with our technology roadmaps.
Innovation: Drive technology innovation and leverage including support for off-cycle investigations.
Section Management: Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs across multiple programs. Ensure that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines and budgets are met in accordance with program and organization commitments.
Business Creation: Proactively identify new business opportunities. Develop and champion plans for new business growth.
Organization Leverage: Ensure the linkage and leverage of the section’s capabilities and roadmaps across MTO and other appropriate businesses.
Culture: Promote a winning culture that is based on a growth mindset - innovation, engagement, valuing diversity and contribution to the business.
Requirements:
Degree in engineering, science or appropriate relevant field and at least seven years of related experience
Proven success and experience as a people manager
Demonstrated leadership of technical teams and strong interpersonal skills
Exemplary skills to collaborate with internal and external partners
Competency for strategic planning and execution
Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional, collaborative teams
Ability to recruit and develop a strong team
Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize and simplify complex topics
Strong business acumen
Demonstrated effectiveness in working across geographies and cultures
Desired:
Advanced knowledge of the printing market and competition
Business development experience in entering new markets
The pay range for this role is$147,050to$230,850USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
