Global Technology Manager SPS:
The Global Technology Manager is responsible for product and concept development within projects in the area of expertise and the more fundamental research work that goes with it for 2 development teams and Digitalisation & Standardisation within 2 European sites. Responsible for achieving own R&D group objectives and thus contributing to the R&D project and organisational objectives.
Focuses on technological product development that is used for specific projects. Maintains contact with various internal and external stakeholders.
Leads interdisciplinary research teams (internal and external) of approximately 5 employees directly and approximately 15 indirectly. Reports to the Chief Technology Officer.
Policy:
Makes proposals and advises on the R&D and SPS Digitalisation & Standardisation policy that fits within the strategy of the matrix organisation, implements the policy and directs the business processes and the discipline process for the Venlo and Fredericia sites.
Ensures coherence between other disciplines within a matrix organisation.
Determines the strategic (annual) plans and assesses the effectiveness of the entire organisation in these areas.
Provides input on the budget, monitors the project budgets after approval.
Identifies opportunities and threats from the market or scientific world and translates this to other departments in the organisation regarding products, processes and procedures.
Maintains (inter)national contacts with customers and visits relevant trade fairs, workshops, seminars and congresses.
R&D:

Management & Organisation:
"Plans the work to be carried out in the department based on the department objectives.
Organizes the processes, procedures and working methods within the department in such a way that the objectives and planning can be achieved.
Monitors the execution (qualitative) and progress (quantitative) of the work within the department and makes adjustments if necessary.
Stimulates (personal) development and cooperation across departmental boundaries.
Is responsible for HR activities within the budget, such as appointment, development, training, assessment, progression and outflow."
Continous Improvement:
"Identifies opportunities for improvement with regard to procedures, processes and the services provided by the department.
Translates the identified bottlenecks into (interdepartmental) improvement projects and advises stakeholders on these.
Leads improvement processes and projects, identifies additional improvement needs and opportunities and ensures the necessary attention and action.
Encourages employees to come up with improvement proposals and provides guidance and shape to these."
Health & Safety:
Ensures a safe working environment and implements applicable Health & Safety standards and the resulting regulations.
Is responsible for the presence and awareness of Health & Safety standards and regulations.
Provides the resources, time and any training opportunities to support Health & Safety.
Regularly monitors improvement measures with regard to Health & Safety.
Reports unsafe situations and acts accordingly.
Knowles:
Master or Ph.D. level. > 10 years of relevant working experience with technical knowledge in the field of gas upgrading, thermodynamics. Technological expertise and experience in chemical engineering, process engineering, gas separation. Leadership skills. Knowledge of English language.
