As a Springboard Fellow, you will play a critical role in expanding the organization’s capacity to reach, engage, and inspire Jewish students on campus. You are passionate about connecting with students who are not yet engaged in Jewish life in deep and meaningful ways. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are equally passionate about serving as a connector, strategist, and creative partner to students who want to lead by building meaningful Jewish experiences for their peers.

About The Springboard Fellowship

The Springboard Fellowship is a paid, two-year fellowship that brings recent college grads with raw talent, passion, and skills needed to reimagine and redesign Jewish student life to college campuses across North America.

Trained in Relationship-Based Engagement, Human-Centered Design and other entrepreneurial frameworks, you will be exposed to the most successful initiatives from across the Hillel movement. Fellows will work with students to imagine, create, and refine experiences for Jewish life that dramatically impact student engagement, efficiently and strategically apply and scale successful initiatives from across the movement, and give birth to cutting-edge ideas that have the potential to transform how Hillel and creates inclusive spaces for #AllKindsOfJewish.

We’re looking for people who embrace challenges, take risks, fail, and learn from the past, while maintaining their passion and sense of humor. Extensive Jewish education is not necessary — just an interest in creating a vibrant Jewish community, a commitment to learning, and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students.

What You’ll Do

GOALS: As the Springboard Innovation Fellow, you will expand IU Hillel’s reach by building meaningful one-on-one relationships and moving students into sustained leadership, cohort learning, and into roles as creators and/or participants in our entrepreneurship incubator. You will help mentor student leaders to strengthen peer-driven engagement across campus. Through testing and refining new scalable engagement models, you will position IU Hillel as a laboratory for measurable innovation in Jewish student life.

• Engage at least (180) students annually through one-on-one relationship building, with a focus on students not yet meaningfully connected to Jewish life.
• Increase depth engagement by moving (45) students or (25% of 180) from initial one-on-one relationships to participants in leadership, learning, or incubator initiatives.
• Collaborate with staff & student leaders to grow the Jewish Student Entrepreneurship Incubator in support of (25) 1st-year and (50) 2nd-year student-led microgrant projects.
• Identify, recruit, develop and mentor student engagement interns and microgrant prospects in support of organization-wide engagement priorities.
• Prototype and evaluate at least (1 to 2) new scalable engagement model(s) annually using Human-Centered Design principles.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Utilize social media and other innovative strategies to build your professional brand, elevate the organization's brand, and support engagement efforts.
• Manage student information in the Hillel Engagement and Relationship Tracking database (HEaRT); maintain records of engagement, programming, and attendance.
• Guide students in exploring their Jewish identities and creating opportunities to participate in Jewish life at Hillel and throughout campus.
• Identify, cultivate, and inspire student leaders to create opportunities that engage their peers and deepen their connection to Jewish life.
• Serve as an active member of Indiana University Hillel’s Engagement Team by staffing Shabbat and Jewish holiday experiences, summer and winter Israel immersive trips, and other organization-wide programs and events.
• Meet with students from different majors, grad years, and demographics on campus to engage them, identify their interests and connect them to opportunities.

What You’ll Receive

• Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $46,000 - $48,000 in year one of the Fellowship, and the salary range is $48,000- $50,000 in year two of the Fellowship.
