Adjunct Faculty Position – Education/Teacher Education Programs

NHTI – Concord’s Community College Position Type: Part-time, adjunct Semester: Spring 2027 Compensation: $850 - $1,000 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)

NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach EDU 211C/TECP 67C Reading and Language Development. This course is important to both the Education A.S. degree program and the Teacher Education Conversion program (TECP). NHTI's Education degree program allows students to gain a broad-based teacher education preparation with hands-on practical experiences in the field. NHTI's TECP certificate is for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want a license to teach mathematics, science, special education, or English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Course Details:

· Course Name: EDU 211C/TECP 67C: Reading and Language Development

· Credits: 3 Credits

· Lecture Hours: 3

· Lab/Practicum Hours: None

· Schedule: Mondays 5:00 – 7:50pm/ Hyflex

· Location: NHTI Campus, Concord, NH

Course Description: Focuses on assessing and addressing student literacy skills. Students will learn about the language development process and demonstrate their ability to use a variety of assessments to identify the language skills and needs of individual learners. Using data driven, collaborative decision making, students will plan appropriate interventions. Research-based methods for teaching phonics, vocabulary, spelling, fluency, reading comprehension, and writing will be explored. Students will learn how to guide readers and writers in developing effective strategies for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Authentic, evidence-based, differentiated instruction linked to the common core standards will be emphasized. Prerequisite: EDU 104C/TECP 51C: Foundations of Education

Key Responsibilities:

· Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.

· Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.

· Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.

· Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education: Master’s degree in Education or related field

· Experience: Experience in NH k-12 Education. Working with adult learners preferred.

· Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
