Are you a people person with love for all things outdoors? We are looking to hire a Full-Time Sports School Program Supervisor for the upcoming Winter season. Compensation Information: $22.45 to $24.55 per hour (depending on experience and education)

Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Certification: Current, valid teaching certification in good standing with a Sports School approved national Snowsports organization, at a Level 2 or higher
  • Experience: Several seasons of demonstrated experience operating in a supervisory capacity within a professional snow sport school.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly computer literate with practical experience navigating Microsoft Office Suite and employee scheduling databases (such as RTP).
  • Legal & Compliance: Legally authorized to work in Canada for the 26/27 winter season contract. Must successfully pass an RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a bona fide occupational requirement for overseeing programs involving minors.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills. Proven track record of high-tier customer service and collaborative teamwork within the tourism sector.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily guest lesson demands against active staff inventories to maximize instructor utilization while strictly maintaining program safety and quality standards.
  • Create, manage, and audit employee daily schedules, ensuring accurate tracking of all paid operational activities and instructional hours in strict alignment with resort policies and BC Employment Standards.
  • Oversee morning line-ups and lesson assignments, ensuring instructors report to designated meeting areas punctually and prepared for their scheduled paid shifts.
  • Manage and process staff time-off and shift-coverage requests proactively to ensure optimal labor inventory during peak periods and operational blackouts.
  • Provide daily logistical direction, performance feedback, and support to the instructional team.
  • Conduct regular on-the-job training audits by observing live on-snow lessons to deliver structured pedagogical and customer service feedback.
  • Ensure all instructors are trained in, and actively utilizing, the resort’s official Skill Level Selectors to accurately match guests to appropriate terrain and progressions.
  • Monitor instructor compliance regarding resort professional standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, and uniform appearance rules.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for guest inquiries, feedback, and program dissatisfaction.
  • Implement professional service-recovery tactics to resolve guest issues efficiently, utilizing communication strategies that align with the resort's guest service goals.
  • Guide guests toward appropriate learning pathways, future bookings, and multi-day packages to drive department retention and support sales metrics.
  • Enforce absolute compliance with the Alpine Responsibility Code and resort risk management protocols across all programs.
  • Promptly investigate, document, and report all workplace and guest incidents, injuries, near-misses, or equipment failures using established resort safety databases and Return-to-Work (RTW) procedures.
