About KWTX:

KWTX News 10 is the CBS affiliate serving Central Texas. We're the news leader in our market, covering Waco, Temple, Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, Bryan and the surrounding communities across broadcast and digital. We're a Gray Media station, and we take our connection to this community seriously — and few things connect a community like Friday night football.

Job Summary/Description:

KWTX News 10 is looking for part-time videographers to shoot high school football on Friday nights this fall. You'll head out to games across Central Texas, capture the highlights, and help our team turn it around fast for our late-night newscasts. This is a seasonal, game-night position running through the end of November 2026. This is also a great opportunity for anyone looking to get their foot in the door in local news or build real, hands-on experience in sports journalism and broadcast production. You'll work alongside our sports and news team, learn how highlights come together from field to air, and build a body of work you can be proud of.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Shoot high school football games on-site every Friday night through the end of the season (station provides camera gear and vehicle)
  • Collect team rosters and game information needed to accurately report scores and highlights
  • Gather all necessary elements — video, stats, names, numbers — for our team to build highlight packages for our late-night newscasts
  • Edit and package video efficiently to meet tight, same-night deadlines
  • Communicate with the sports and assignment desk before, during, and after games as needed
  • Travel to game locations across our coverage area (station-provided vehicle)

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be available every Friday afternoon/evening through the end of November 2026
  • Some professional experience shooting sports video is required
  • Some experience editing video is required
  • Knowledge of football — the game, positions, terminology, and flow of play — is required
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required
  • Ability to work independently and meet same-night deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with names, numbers, and stats
  • A team player with a great attitude who can represent KWTX professionally in the community
