The Cape Ann YMCA, located in a newer, modern facility, is seeking an experienced and motivated Sports Director to lead and expand our sports and recreation programming to meet the needs of our community.
About the Role
As the Sports Director, you will oversee all aspects of sports and recreation programming, ensuring a fun, safe, and engaging experience for participants of all ages. Through strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and hands-on engagement, you will manage staff, develop practice and game schedules, organize clinics and leagues, and ensure program quality and compliance.
This role focuses on strengthening parent/child and preschool programs, growing specialized offerings such as pickleball, and building programs that foster youth development, community connection, and a lifelong love of sports. During the summer months, the Sports Director also plays a key leadership role within our day camp programs, providing consistency, mentorship, and support.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced sports professionals or graduates with degrees in Sports & Recreation Management, Business, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Education, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- 2–4 years of related experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience teaching and coaching participants across a variety of ages and skill levels
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with the ability to keep staff, participants, and families informed clearly and consistently
