Sponsorship, Community Partner, Competitive Events Coordinator
General Summary:
The Sponsorship and Marketing Coordinator at the Brazos Valley Fair and Rodeo will work under the direction of the Manager/Assistant Manager. The primary responsibilities include soliciting and managing sponsorships, providing marketing and advertising support, developing electronic and social media campaigns, creating basic graphic designs for signage and advertising materials, overseeing commercial exhibitors and vendors of the fair and rodeo, and engaging in community outreach through civic and public presentations. The Coordinator will also undertake other duties as assigned by the Manager/Assistant Manager.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Essential Duties:
1. Sponsorship Management:
o Identify potential sponsors and develop strategies to solicit sponsorships.
o Maintain relationships with existing sponsors and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
o Negotiate sponsorship agreements and contracts.
2. Marketing and Advertising Support:
o Assist in the development and execution of marketing and advertising campaigns.
o Monitor campaign performance and provide reports to management.
3. Social Media Development and Website Maintenance:
o Develop and implement electronic and social media strategies to promote the Fair & Rodeo and its events.
o Manage social media accounts, engage with followers, and increase participation and awareness.
4. Graphic Design:
o Create basic graphic designs for signage, advertisements, and promotional materials.
o Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all materials.
5. Commercial Exhibitors and Vendors Oversight:
o Coordinate with commercial exhibitors and vendors participating in the Fair & Rodeo.
o Facilitate agreements, manage logistics, and ensure adherence to event guidelines.
6. Community Outreach:
o Represent the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo at civic and community events.
o Deliver presentations to civic groups and the public to promote sponsorship opportunities and community involvement.
7. Administrative Duties:
o Maintain accurate records of sponsorships, marketing activities, and related expenses.
o Assist in budget management and reporting.
The above duties apply to the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo with occasional overlap with the Brazos County Exposition Complex.

Supervision
Received: Expo – General Manager; Fair- Manager/Assistant Manager
Given: Full-time hourly staff, temporary employees, and Fair volunteers.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
Preferred: Agriculture-related.
Experience
Required: Professional experience in selling sponsorships and/or advertisements for Fairs and/or Festivals. Experience with sales/marketing and communications experience is required, preferably in the event facility industry. Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
Previous experience in sponsorship sales, marketing, or related fields
Preferred: A minimum of two years’ experience with knowledge of agriculture-related Fairs and/or Festivals preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Physical Demands
Typical: Ability to sit for long periods of time at a personal computer performing work-related functions, also required to frequently stand and walk for long periods of time, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Flexible with work hours and willing to work beyond regular hours and do what it takes to get the job done.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Typical: Must have the ability to multi-task in a stressful environment, have supervisory experience, have strong organizational skills, focus attention to details, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and work effectively in a team environment. Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and must be willing to work flexible hours as needed including some nights and weekends, especially prior to, during and immediately after the Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Background or knowledge in agriculture or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of the local community and its businesses is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite). Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment
Typical: This position may require occasional evening and weekend work, particularly during the fair and rodeo events as well as throughout the year with occasional Brazos County Expo events. The Sponsorship Coordinator should be prepared for travel within the Brazos Valley area for meetings, events, and sponsorship outreach. Occasional Conferences and Conventions required.
