Your opportunity

Looking for a Speech Pathology role where you can make a real difference, have clinical autonomy and build a career around the life you want?

Join our mobile Speech Pathology team, providing meaningful assessment and intervention to adults across residential aged care and community settings in Geelong and surrounds.

You'll work with a diverse adult caseload, supporting people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, progressive neurological conditions and age-related changes, with opportunities to develop your skills across both communication and dysphagia.

Whether you're a new graduate looking to build your confidence or an experienced clinician looking for greater flexibility and autonomy, we'd love to hear from you.

Why you'll love this role

  • Flexibility that actually works for you – manage your own calendar and choose the hours that suit your lifestyle.
  • Make a difference where it matters – provide personalised Speech Pathology services to adults in their homes, residential aged care facilities and the community.
  • A diverse clinical caseload – work across dysphagia and communication with a range of neurological and age-related conditions.
  • Strong support for new graduates – receive regular 1:1 clinical supervision, dedicated support and access to an experienced national Speech Pathology team.
  • Keep growing professionally – access a $500 annual professional development budget, internal workshops and regular full-day professional development sessions.
  • Clinical autonomy – have the freedom to manage your day and make clinical decisions while knowing you have a supportive team behind you.
  • Opportunities beyond Geelong – for clinicians interested in it, there may be opportunities to travel and support clients in regional locations.
  • Be part of a connected national team – collaborate with Speech Pathologists across Australia and share knowledge, ideas and clinical expertise.

What you'll be doing

As a mobile Speech Pathologist, you'll:

  • Assess and provide evidence-based intervention for swallowing and communication difficulties.
  • Support adults with complex and changing clinical needs.
  • Provide dysphagia and communication assessment and intervention across residential aged care and community settings.
  • Deliver telehealth assessment and intervention where appropriate.
  • Manage your own calendar, appointments and travel schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, facility staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and recommendations to clients, families, support staff and colleagues.
  • Advocate for clients and help them maintain their communication, independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Connect with our national Speech Pathology team to share knowledge and clinical expertise.

Build your career with Plena

At Plena Healthcare, we believe you should be able to build a rewarding career without sacrificing your work-life balance.

You'll have the flexibility to structure your day around your life, while still having the support, connection and clinical resources of a national team behind you.

For new graduates, you'll have access to regular 1:1 supervision (30 minutes per week), alongside support from experienced Speech Pathologists. For experienced clinicians, you'll have access to senior group supervision and a national community of clinicians to collaborate with.

We're committed to helping you continue to grow, with a $500 annual professional development allowance, regular internal professional development sessions and opportunities to pursue areas of clinical interest.

Plena Perks

When you join our Plena Healthcare community, you'll also enjoy:

  • Flexible working hours and the ability to manage your own schedule.
  • $500 annual professional development allowance to pursue the learning opportunities that interest you.
  • Regular full-day internal professional development sessions with our national Speech Pathology team.
  • 1:1 clinical supervision for new graduates, with senior group supervision available for experienced clinicians.
  • Shine Days – up to two additional days off each year to recognise all that you do.
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave for both parents.
  • $150 annual Health Kick allowance to support your health and wellbeing.
  • Shine Awards – opportunities to be recognised and rewarded, with monthly, quarterly and annual awards valued up to $2,000.
  • Treasure Chest Fund – funding to help you create special moments and brighten the day of a client.
  • $1000 Refer a Friend bonus – because great clinicians know great clinicians.

About you

To join our team, you'll need:

  • A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle, as this is a mobile role.
