We are recruiting for a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Division of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics (DDBP), who will improve access for patients with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, including in multidisciplinary diagnostic clinics. Position will also increase access to treatment of patients followed in DDBP.
Our specialists in the Division of Speech-Language Pathology believe it’s their job to create a positive atmosphere in which a child can learn to enjoy communication. We have the largest and one of the best programs in the nation. Our highly trained experts focus on personalized care, demonstrating our commitment to the best outcome for your child.
We begin with a comprehensive evaluation. Based on the evaluation results, an individualized treatment plan is developed for the child, with input from the family. In each case, the speech-language pathologist involves the family in the treatment process to ensure not only the best treatment outcomes, but also a high level of family satisfaction with the process. Our efforts are also directed toward making the therapy a positive and enjoyable experience for the child.
The speech-language pathologist (SLP) is defined as the professional who engages in professional practice in the areas of communication and swallowing across the life span. Communication and swallowing are broad terms encompassing many facets of function. The entry level Speech-Language Pathologist focuses on developing expertise in the basic clinical practice areas: speech sound disorders, language, autism, and cultural/linguistic inclusion.
