
Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
Evaluate patients using appropriate therapeutic media.
Develop individualized treatment programs consistent with patient’s diagnosis, status and goals.
Document patient evaluation, status, progress and discharge per approved procedures.
Implement the treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team.
Monitor patient’s response and modifies plan as needed.
Represent the hospital/department at community speech, Speech and Hearing Director and Graduate Students Practicum Advisory Board Meetings.
Contribute to the clinical and academic education of medical students, residents, and undergraduate Speech Language Pathology students and students within the College of Allied Health.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate school-Required
Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA or working towards certification, and Licensure by the State of Ohio- Required
Completion of clinical fellowship year preferred, but not required.
