Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Oakville, ON

Maternity Leave contract 12-18 months

Full Time, On Site 40 hours per week

8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday core hours, with one evening per 6-week period and one Saturday per 6 weeks for group/workshop availability

Salary: $40.31 - $47.75 per hour (40-hour work week, OPSEU unionized position)

We are seeking a critical thinking and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support the delivery of speech and language therapy services in a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work with adults with communication challenges, implementing therapy plans and helping clients achieve their communication goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized therapy programs
  • Conduct one-on-one and/or small group therapy sessions
  • Take accurate and clean SOAP notes during the sessions
  • Prepare therapy materials and activities tailored to client needs
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding progress and home practice strategies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging therapy environment
  • Follow all clinical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and professional regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or Communication Sciences and Disorders)
  • Current registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Experience working with individuals with communication disorders, adults with developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Expertise needed in augmentative/assistive communication for nonverbal individuals with autism, feeding and swallowing assessments, IDDSI model familiarity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Passion for helping individuals improve their communication skills
  • Valid Ontario driver's license required
