TX-STAR Speech Language Services partners with Texas school districts to expand access to high-quality speech and language services. We are currently recruiting a Speech-Language Pathologist for a school-based assignment in the Austin area.

This opportunity is ideal for a clinician who values teamwork, enjoys serving students in educational settings, and wants to improve the communication abilities that support learning, participation, and social development.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate students, design appropriate interventions, and collaborate with campus teams to address a broad range of communication needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Administer speech and language assessments and interpret results to identify student needs

  • Create individualized treatment plans and measurable communication goals aligned with IEP requirements

  • Provide direct therapy in one-on-one and small-group formats

  • Support students with articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, social communication, and related concerns

  • Use therapy data and student performance to determine when services or strategies should be adjusted

  • Present evaluation results, progress information, and clinical recommendations during ARD and IEP meetings

  • Partner with teachers, families, administrators, and other special education professionals

  • Complete evaluation reports, progress summaries, service logs, and compliance documentation within required timelines

  • Organize caseload responsibilities, therapy schedules, and required follow-up activities efficiently

Qualifications for This Position

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a comparable discipline

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for Texas licensure

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred

  • Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply, and supervision may be provided

  • Understanding of IEP development, special education procedures, and speech-language services in schools

  • Ability to prioritize caseload duties and consistently meet documentation and service deadlines

  • Strong clinical communication, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills

  • Prior experience with pediatric or school-based populations is preferred

Work Setting and Scheduling Options

  • School-based assignment in Austin or a nearby community

  • Available placement arrangements may include:

    • Full-time assignments

    • Part-time schedules

    • Hybrid or fully campus-based roles

  • Placement is determined by professional credentials, availability, preferences, and district needs
