Help Students Reach Their Potential

TX-STAR Speech Language Services works alongside school districts across Texas to help students access effective speech and language services in educational settings. We are currently hiring Speech-Language Pathologists for school-based assignments in El Paso and surrounding areas.

These opportunities are a strong fit for clinicians who want to improve students’ functional communication, support academic participation, and collaborate with school teams to create meaningful progress.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will identify communication challenges, establish appropriate goals, and deliver services that help students engage more successfully at school.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform speech and language assessments and interpret findings to determine student strengths and service needs

  • Write measurable communication goals and develop intervention plans that align with Individualized Education Programs

  • Provide direct therapy to students individually and in small groups

  • Address articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and other identified areas

  • Gather therapy data and use student outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions

  • Modify service approaches, activities, and goals when progress information indicates a need for change

  • Consult with teachers, families, administrators, and related-service professionals regarding student performance

  • Present evaluation results, clinical observations, and recommendations during ARD and IEP meetings

  • Complete evaluation reports, service records, progress summaries, and required compliance documents on schedule

  • Stay informed about school-based clinical standards, special education procedures, and evidence-supported practices

Qualifications for This Position

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related discipline

  • Active Texas license to practice Speech-Language Pathology

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred

  • Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply, with supervision available

  • Knowledge of IEP development, special education processes, and educationally relevant speech-language services

  • Ability to manage caseload duties, therapy schedules, meetings, and documentation deadlines

  • Strong clinical writing, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

  • Previous experience working with children or providing services in schools is preferred

  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is a plus
