The Astor Learning Center (ALC) is a therapeutic school for children facing educational, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The ALC provides a nurturing learning environment where children who have often experienced failure in school can finally succeed. Started in 2010, Astor’s Day Student Program enables children from the local community to stay at home and attend a more structured educational environment that better meets their needs.
The ALC is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist! The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating children when data based or clinical material gained during diagnostic study suggests problems complicated by or related to speech or language difficulties. They will assist in developing a milieu environment which considers the child’s language and speech needs.

Requirements

Astor Services is a community based, non-profit organization that provides children's mental health services, child welfare services, and early childhood development programs. Astor serves children and families in New York State's Mid-Hudson Valley region and the Bronx.
Through a wide variety of premier quality education and mental health services, Astor provides support for pre-schoolers, children with behavioral and emotional health problems, children at risk of placement in foster care, and families that need assistance in developing the skills necessary to raise their children in an environment filled with increasing challenges. Astor currently serves thousands of children each year through its prevention, early childhood, special education, community behavioral health and residential treatment programs.
No one will be denied access to services due to their inability to pay. A discounted/sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income.
