Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist – Mainstream Schools
Banding: Band 6 or Band 7
Trust: Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust
Location: Inner North West Division
Service Area: Schools across Westminster and Chelsea
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00
Contract Length: 3 Months
Car Driver Required: No

Pulse is now recruiting an experienced Band 6/7 Speech and Language Therapist to join Central London Community Healthcare’s Inner North West Division. This role is based at The Medical Centre, Woodfield Road, with clinical work delivered across mainstream schools in Westminster and Chelsea

This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist with strong educational experience to support children and young people through high‑quality assessment, intervention, and statutory work. The service follows a whole systems approach, and the successful clinician will play a key role in supporting communication needs across school environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and intervention for children in mainstream school settings
    • Complete Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs)
    • Deliver therapy and support in line with EHCP‑specified provision
    • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teachers, families, and wider professionals
    • Apply a whole systems approach to support communication needs across school communities
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Requirements

  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree (or equivalent)
    • HCPC registration (required)
    • Experience working in mainstream schools
    • Competence in completing EHCNAs and delivering EHCP‑based provision
    • Understanding of the whole systems approach
    • Strong communication and organisational skills
    • Car driver not required
