Behind every reliable lab result is careful, accurate preparation. As a Specimen Processor with Valley Lab, you’ll ensure samples are properly identified, prepared, documented, and ready for testing. Your precision and attention to detail will help keep the lab moving efficiently and support the quality care our clients depend on.

Pay: Range starts at $16.00/hour (pay is calculated based on years of related working experience)

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday | 7:00pm – 10:00pm

Job Summary & Deliverables

The Specimen Processor prepares samples received at the Valley Lab for laboratory testing. The Specimen Processor also performs tasks such as matching patient information, data entry, and aliquoting.

Essential Functions

• Prepares specimens for laboratory testing and analysis including managing specimen containers, verifying patient identifiers on the sample and test request forms, entering data into the lab information system, and ensuring correct specimen labeling
• Prepares aliquots and delivers specimens for testing
• Centrifuges and disposes of specimens
• Resolves and documents any problems relating to specimen samples, collection, and processing
• Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
• Handles and disposes of medical and chemical waste
