– Specification Writer (Commercial Projects)

Location: Malaysia / KL

We are looking for a detail-oriented Specification Writer to support our commercial project team in preparing technical specifications and door hardware schedules.

This role plays a key part in enabling early project influence by translating design requirements into clear, compliant specifications that support project wins in Singapore’s commercial market.

Key Responsibilities

Specification & Documentation

• Prepare door hardware schedules and technical specifications based on project drawings
• Ensure alignment with Singapore building codes, fire safety, and project requirements
• Use internal tools / templates to produce clear and accurate specification documents

Project Support

• Support specification and project sales teams with tender documents and technical submissions
• Assist in responding to technical queries from consultants and contractors
• Work closely with internal teams (sales, product, operations) to ensure alignment

Learning & Product Knowledge

• Build knowledge of door hardware, smart locks, and access control solutions
• Learn how products are applied across different project types (commercial, hospitality, institutional)
• Understand construction drawings and door schedules

Data & Process Support

• Maintain records of specifications and projects in CRM or internal systems
• Track updates to specifications and ensure documents are kept current
• Support continuous improvement of templates and documentation standards

Requirements

Experience

• 0–3 years experience in construction, engineering, or technical documentation roles
• Fresh graduates with relevant background are welcome

Skills

• Basic understanding of construction drawings (architectural / door schedule)
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organisation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word

Attributes

• Willing to learn and build technical capability
• Structured thinker with strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills and team player

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building, or related field
