Hatch Asia has been retained as the preferred talent partner to assist a global organization in the building materials industry, to help identify a Specification Specialist to join the team in Malaysia. This organization has a rich history spanning over 160 years, and has a reputation for it's customer centricity and is known for providing high-quality solutions that meet the diverse needs of it's customers.

The Specification Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with architects, engineers, consultants, and other specifiers to ensure our products are specified in construction projects.

The Challenges

• Identify and engage with architects, engineers, consultants, and other specifiers to promote products and solutions.
• Educate specifiers on the features, benefits, and applications of the products to influence project specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams including sales, marketing, and technical support to provide technical assistance and support to specifiers.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of industry standards, building codes, and regulations related to waterproofing and adhesives.
• Monitor project specifications and track competitive activity to identify opportunities and threats.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the specification process to ensure accurate and effective product selection..

What It Takes

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in specification sales, technical sales, or a related role, preferably in the construction or building materials industry.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
