For Country Sales Organization in Romania, we are looking for a Specification Sales Engineer.
Locations: Bucharest, Brasov and Cluj, with a travel rate up to 50%.

The role is reporting into the Country Sales Manager.

In this role you will be responsible, within the assigned region, for the efficient expansion and maintenance of the network of customers who can be considered specifying entities for projects related to commercial and institutional buildings. These entities typically include engineering offices, consultants, end-users with serialized business activity or large-scale projects, and others.
An important component of the role involves projects that include Emergency Lighting systems, ensuring the proper promotion and integration of Eaton solutions into technical specifications from the early stages of the project.

The primary objective is to ensure visibility of projects from their early phases and to be actively involved in the planning process, in order to tailor the specifications to Eaton solutions, including those for Emergency Lighting.


Other important aspects of the role include monitoring and identifying sources of projects that are not specified with Eaton. For such projects, it is essential to ensure communication and record them in Salesforce, as well as to inform interface functions — such as Project Sales Engineers, the back office, and project management — so they are aware of the project and can follow up and execute the activity.

Specification Sales Engineers are fundamentally oriented towards maximizing opportunities, both in volume and in probability of conversion. They optimally leverage internal resources to move quickly from project to project and to maximize the application of Eaton Solution Spaces, including Emergency Lighting systems, in as many projects as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the development and delivery of large‑scale projects within the assigned product categories, from opportunity identification through to completion
  • Build and maintain a sustainable 1–3‑year project pipeline, with a strong focus on achieving annual revenue and profitability targets in line with the profit plan
  • Develop and grow business opportunities within the assigned customer portfolio across targeted segments, including commercial construction, industry, infrastructure, and utilities, among others
  • Establish and nurture strong, long‑term partner relationships that support ongoing projects and future business growth
  • Proactively understand customer needs and collaborate cross‑functionally to influence outcomes and deliver a high‑quality customer experience
  • Build and strengthen trusted partnerships with designers, general contractors, installers, investors, and other key stakeholders
  • Define and align commercial and technical project requirements, leading the full project lifecycle with clarity and coordination
  • Contribute to overall team success by sharing insights, collaborating across the organization, and enabling broader business development opportunities
  • Manage the project pipeline end‑to‑end, including opportunity tracking, quotation management, and follow‑through
  • Develop strategic account plans and manage the assigned portfolio with a long‑term, value‑driven approach
  • Plan and execute customer engagements, including calls, site visits, and interactions with specification and design stakeholders
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of commercial and technical activities in line with internal standards

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of commercial and industrial (C&I) building electrical systems and applicable standards
  • Comfortable using MS Office and CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Experience working with electrical design software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
  • Knowledge of lighting design and photometric calculations using tools like DIALux, Relux, or similar software
  • Familiarity with electrical installation standards and regulations (NP, IEC)
  • Understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability concepts in buildings

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Hold a valid Category B driver’s license
