Job Description

Specific Technology Specialist - 10 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
  • Develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
Data Integration and Management
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to create a unified data environment.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across different systems.
Performance Optimization
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Implement best practices for data storage and retrieval.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration.
Troubleshooting and Support
  • Identify and resolve data-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Provide support for data-related queries and requests.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Oracle, and other database technologies.
  • Exposure to Cloud Technology (Azure).
  • Exposure to Ab Initio.
Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security practices.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Consulting and Deployment
  • Consult and provide advice on the use of specific technology.
  • Address the company's needs by deploying, supporting, and configuring the specific technology.
  • Develop solutions using in-depth knowledge of the technology.
  • Ensure ongoing availability within SLA requirements.
Technology Optimization and Utilization
  • Maximize exploitation of the technology features across multiple business initiatives.
  • Identify further opportunities for the use of the technology.
  • Maintain up-to-date landscape views and technical guidelines for the implementation of the specific technology.
Strategic Alignment and Design
  • Participate in design forums, project forums, user groups, and RFPs.
  • Design optimal technical solutions aligned with the company's technology standards.
  • Document and maintain relevant standards and technology roadmaps in alignment with strategic IT policies and procedures.
  • Ensure implementation of solutions aligns with best practices.
Research and Development
  • Participate in R&D related to specific technology.
  • Ensure alignment with emerging technologies and assess their impact on company technologies.
  • Conduct proofs of technology and concepts, providing recommendations.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with vendors related to specific technologies.
  • Present the exploitation and impact of the technology to stakeholders.
  • Provide problem-solving support for high-impact incidents.
  • Obtain buy-in for developing new or enhanced processes to improve stakeholder business functions.
  • Become a trusted consultant by providing accurate information and acknowledging limitations.

Knowledge Sharing and Mentorship

  • Share knowledge and industry trends with the team to enable skilling and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development of curricula for stakeholders.
  • Grow the profession through technical mentoring and reviewing vendor training offerings.
  • Ensure the continuity of the technical specialist pipeline.

Company Vision and Culture

  • Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in company culture-building initiatives, business strategies, and CSI.
  • Understand and embrace the company's vision and values, leading by example.
  • Review systems, processes, services, and solutions to ensure alignment with business strategy and values.

  • Present any technology changes or impacts to stakeholders.
