We are seeking a strategic, tech-savvy and creative person to join our Communications and Marketing team. In this role, you will ensure that our public-facing website and community portals are engaging, intuitive, up to date, and functional. You will also support the buildingand deployment of a high volume of email campaigns.
This is not an IT position, but a creative, systems-minded communications role. The ideal candidate is someone who can build and manage the website's back end while also thinking from a front-end and user experience perspective. You are someone who can see the big picture — balancing technical functionality with intuitive, user-centred design for prospective families, current parents, alumnae, and staff. Experience in an independent school or educational setting is considered an asset. A bonus if you have creative design skills and knowledge of InDesign or other design programs.
This is a five-month contract to cover a leave and is in-person at our campus in Kerrisdale.
Responsibilities:
Oversee our Content Management System (Finalsite). Ensure that data flows smoothly and logically between our forms, website pages, and connected school portals.
Audit and optimize the website from a user’s perspective. Manage site navigation, page hierarchy, and user journeys to ensure a seamless experience from initial discovery to online application.
Serve as the team's primary point of contact for website updates, form creation, online document management and link creation.
Monitor website analytics and user behaviour. Translate data into actionable marketing insights to increase traffic and improve engagement.
Act as the main liaison with our website platform provider ( Finalsite) to manage technical support tickets, design updates, and platform capabilities.
Buildand deploy a high volume of email campaigns.
Maintain email subscriber lists and ensure compliance with anti-spam and privacy regulations (e.g., CASL, CAN-SPAM).
Analyze campaign data to share actionable insights with the team
Collaborates with various stakeholders regarding external communications projects.
Maintains confidentiality in all matters
Provides special project support as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
3+ years of experience working on websites, digital platforms, and email marketing.
Prior experience in a K-12 independent school, higher education, or a non-profit communications environment an asset.
Solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS to make visual or layout adjustments, customize styles, and ensure total mobile responsiveness.
Experience managing enterprise-level Content Management Systems (CMS), building complex logic-based web forms, and managing digital assets. Familiarity with standard school database/SIS integrations is an asset
Proficient in Google Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Adobe PDF).
A proven ability to look at a digital ecosystem holistically to understand how backend configurations impact user behaviour.
Experience with social media strategy is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and editing skills, with a strong customer-focused approach.
Strong organizational and project management skills and sharp attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, balance priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
A self-motivated strategic thinker and excellent problem-solver who can work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team under supervision.
Proactive, flexible, and able to adapt smoothly to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
Employment and Application Details:
This role is scheduled to start immediately.

Compensation: $65,000 - $73,000 based on experience.
