Primary Responsibility / Summary

The Specialist, WCD Employer Engagement develops and maintains employer partnerships to expand employment opportunities for program participants. Working as part of the WCD WCD Employer Engagement team, this role conducts employer outreach, develops job leads, coordinates recruitment activities, and matches qualified participants with employment opportunities that align with employer hiring needs and participant skills. Through proactive business development, field-based engagement, and effective collaboration with WCD Programs staff, the Specialist supports successful job placements, strengthens employer relationships, and advances workforce development and placement outcomes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Relationship and Business Development:

This position requires consistent, proactive field-based engagement, including employer visits, worksite tours, and hiring events and participation in local business organizations to build employer relationships, assess workforce needs, and identify employment opportunities for program participants

  • Execute employer outreach using assigned target lists to identify job opportunities within priority industries and occupations.
  • Conduct employer engagement activities—including phone, email, and in-person visits—using established messaging and outreach strategies.
  • Develop and maintain regular contact with assigned employers to support ongoing job development and placement opportunities.
  • Represent GSC during employer interactions, job fairs, and hiring events, supporting delivery of employer-facing services.
  • Present workforce services to employers—including candidate referrals, hiring support, and program resources—in alignment with established guidelines.
  • Conduct worksite visits and gather job requirements to support effective job matching and candidate placement.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of recruitment events, job fairs, and other business engagement activities.

Job Placement Support:

  • Execute job lead generation and recruitment activities using regional needs, employer intelligence, job boards, and established placement tools and platforms.
  • Match participants to employment opportunities based on skills, interests, and readiness, leveraging assessments provided by WCD Program staff.
  • Coordinate candidate referrals, pre-screening, and interview scheduling to support employer hiring needs.
  • Achieve individual performance goals related to placements, wages, job quality, and retention in alignment with program and funder requirements.
  • Support the delivery of recruitment activities by assisting with job postings, hiring events, and employer follow-up to ensure successful placements.
  • Perform recruitment support activities, including candidate pre-screening, job postings, interview coordination, hiring event participation, and employer follow-up to support successful placements.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of employer engagement and placement activities in CRM and data management systems.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and service standards to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery.
  • Ensure employers understand program requirements and expectations related to services and placement.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and external funder requirements related to employer engagement, job placement, and program reporting.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 1-2 years of case management/career counseling experience.
  • 2-3 Years of sales-related experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment.
  • Experience in recruitment or staffing industry, highly desired.
  • Experience with Salesforce/CRM System preferred.
