Job Description

Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD).

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively.

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with organizational goals

Key Responsibilities

  • Compensation Management:
    • Assist in developing and maintaining salary structures, pay scales, and compensation guidelines.
    • Assist in conducting market benchmarking and salary surveys to ensure competitive pay practices.
    • Support annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases, promotions etc.
    • Assist in aligning compensation strategies with organizational goals
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Support in managing employee benefits programs (health insurance, wellness initiatives, etc.).
    • Liaise with vendors and service providers for benefits administration and issue resolution.
    • Communicate benefits information clearly to employees and handle queries effectively.
  • Career Architecture Management:
    • Assist in Designing and implementing frameworks that define job roles, career paths, and organizational structures.
    • Ensure alignment of career paths with job evaluation and compensation structures.
    • Maintain accurate mapping of employees to the career architecture for transparency and consistency.
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Ensure adherence to local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Analytics & Reporting:
    • Prepare compensation and benefits reports for management decision-making.
    • Prepare reports and dashboards to track compensation trends, benefits utilization, and workforce costs
  • Employee Support:
    • Act as a point of contact for compensation and benefits-related queries.

Qualifications

  • MBA in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in compensation and benefits, Organization Structure / Career Architect
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, benefits programs, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and benefits regulations.
