Specialist Services Co-ordinator (Design and Technical) | 11258 | Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2028 | 18.5 hours per week | £30,023 to £32,046 per annum pro rata (Scale F) | The Shirehall, Norwich

Norfolk Museums Service has recently completed the major National Lottery Heritage Fund-funded redevelopment of Norwich Castle. The project recreates the royal palace of the Norman kings and has established a new world-class heritage offer in the heart of Norwich, with significant opportunities for income generation including high end conference and banqueting.

The Norman Castle - Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery - Norfolk Museums Service

NMS is a countywide service operating ten museum sites, each of which has a unique and strong identity. Sites include Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse and Time & Tide Museum in Great Yarmouth https://www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/

NMS delivers temporary exhibitions across a number of sites and also undertakes regular improvements to its permanent galleries, including through major externally funded development projects. The work of the in-house Design & Technical (D&T) team is supplemented by freelance 2D and 3D designers and specialist technicians where required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Norfolk Museums Services’ Design and Technical team. You will schedule and coordinate the work of the Design and Technical Team to deliver high quality, accessible and engaging temporary and permanent exhibitions and related interpretation across Norwich Museums.

You will liaise with a range of internal and external clients and stakeholders to plan an effective work schedule to ensure the delivery of projects, temporary exhibitions and small display jobs for NMS is completed within budget and on time.

You will maintain an effective individual job-based financial monitoring and recording system to ensure effective monitoring of internal/external work in accordance with NCC policies and procedures, ensuring the effective logging of all staff time and other costs for all external/project funded work. You will also raise purchase orders, generate invoices and monitor payments for all external client work.

You will be a proven team player with a passion for the culture and heritage sector.

This is a Temporary contract initially to 31 March 2028, 18.5hrs per week. Days and work patterns can be flexible (Mon – Fri).
