What you’ll do

  • Maintains driver qualification files including obtaining and reviewing files upon hire and as documents expire;
  • Maintains a high level of communication internally regarding driver status updates and safety compliance;
  • Accurately classifies and enters new employees into various systems and communicates compliance issues to internal stakeholders;
  • Reviews Motor Vehicle Reports upon hire and annually thereafter to determine driving eligibility;
  • Updates and disseminates various safety compliance reports;
  • Acts as secretary for multiple company safety committees;
  • In conjunction with Safety leadership, sets up and tracks required drug testing, including random tests, reasonable-suspicion tests, and follow-up tests;
  • Processes invoices for drug testing and DOT physicals;
  • Manages inventory and distribution of safety equipment and PPE;
  • Aids in managing the SDS program;
  • Analyzes safety compliance data to find trends and make recommendations to the Sr. Safety Manager or Safety Director;
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of administrative experience is required.
  • Some knowledge of construction safety or the telecommunications industry is preferred;
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, correspondence and memos;
  • Effective and respectful written and verbal communication with all applicable stakeholders, both internal and external, at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to apply reasoning and understanding to solve practical problems;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with a strong attention to detail;
  • Proficient use of computer hardware and software including but not limited to Internet software and databases. Familiarity with Google-based applications is preferred;
  • Understanding and use of general arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, units of measure and weight using whole numbers, fractions and decimals;
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends as needed;
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance;
  • Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record required.
