What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting, you'll play a key role in the production and delivery of regulatory documents for mutual funds and exchange traded funds. Your responsibilities will span the development, production, and delivery of key regulatory deliverables such as prospectuses, fund facts, ETF facts, financial statements, management reports of fund performance, quarterly portfolio disclosures, and annual reminders. You'll collaborate closely with internal partners across Fund Valuations, Product Development, Total Investment Solutions, Business Management, Legal, Compliance, Taxation, and Client Services, as well as external vendors. You'll ensure all materials adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, are delivered on time, and maintain a focus on improving the client experience. You'll also manage project costs, timelines, and translation needs, and help ensure documents are accessible and error-free. This role involves working with tight and sometimes unpredictable deadlines, and may occasionally require extended hours, including evenings, weekends, or work outside of standard business hours.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $66,090 to $85,550.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you'll succeed

  • Collaboration - Work closely with peers and senior partners across multiple teams to ensure the successful delivery of regulatory reporting requirements, including prospectuses, fund facts, financial statements, management reports of fund performance, quarterly portfolio disclosures, and annual reminders.
  • Partnerships - Develop productive relationships with new external vendors and strengthen existing partnerships to enhance project outcomes.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements to manage business risk, ensuring all regulatory materials meet form requirements and are delivered on schedule.
  • Client Experience - Maintain a client-focused mindset, leveraging resources and expertise to improve the user-friendliness of completed projects through copy edits or design changes.
  • Project Management - Plan and manage project timelines, coordinate translation resources, track costs, and ensure stakeholder sign-off and timely distribution of all deliverables.
  • Development, production, and delivery of the team’s deliverables: Collaborate with peers and senior partners in Fund Valuations, Product Development, Total Investment Solutions, Business Management, Legal, Compliance, Taxation, Client Services and other teams. Develop productive partnerships with new external vendors, maintain and improve partnerships with existing vendors. Adhere to legal/regulatory requirements to manage CAM business risk, by ensuring all required regulatory materials meet form requirements and are delivered on time. Maintain a focus on the client experience; leverage resources and expertise to improve the user-friendliness of completed projects, whether through copy edits or design changes. Create draft disclosure documents for partner review; ensure all comments and feedback received are thoroughly investigated and edits are accurately incorporated. Manage and track project costs to ensure minimal waste and most cost-effective pricing.
  • Manage the end-to-end process, particularly including projects and timelines. Examples of specific task responsibilities include: Project planning and timeline development, to ensure that projects are completed by applicable deadlines, to provide partners with reasonable advance notice of upcoming projects, and to ensure that translation resources are available when needed. Possesses advanced analytical writing and critical thinking skills, along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Copywriting, to ensure documents are as user-friendly as practical and to adapt language used in other projects or contexts as needed. Translation, to meet CIBC’s obligation to provide documents in both official languages, and to ensure translated text is in line with CIBC standards and consistent with other similar projects. Review, to prevent typographical and formatting errors in the finished documents and to ensure that changes provided have been implemented correctly. Stakeholder sign-off, to ensure that all affected parties have received a chance to comment on projects while in development and that their comments and approval have been retained for audit purposes. To ensure timely and compliant distribution, financial statements, management reports on fund performance, consent letters, and annual reminder letters are printed and delivered to unitholders in accordance with their stated preferences, regulatory requirements, and established deadlines. Project notification, to ensure that management and other interested parties are kept informed of the status of projects throughout their lifecycles. Web posting, to ensure that all materials are maintained online for internal (head/back office and/or retail branch, as appropriate) and/or external audiences, as appropriate. Accessibility, to meet CIBC’s obligation to provide accessible documents. Post-mortem reporting, to determine changes in approach or planning on future projects. The incumbent may be asked to lead or participate in any of the above processes, and may be asked to directly leverage project team members and other resources required to achieve the above. This role involves working with tight and sometimes unpredictable deadlines, and may occasionally require extended hours, including evenings, weekends, or work outside of standard business hours.
  • Miscellaneous Regulatory projects. Accrual, Invoicing, may be asked to participate in or lead projects beyond the scope of the position or to take on stretch assignments. Other tasks that may be assigned by the Director and other team members.
