Job Description

Location: Methodist Professional Center – Urology Department
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Onsite)

As a Registration Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for patients from arrival through departure. This position supports front-end operations including scheduling, registration, and insurance verification while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out processes in a timely and professional manner
  • Schedule appointments and follow-up visits
  • Manage work queues, including prior authorizations
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information
  • Explain charges, policies, and payment expectations
  • Process payments and ensure accurate documentation
  • Scan and maintain patient records
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients appropriately
  • Support overall patient flow and clinic operations

Performance Benchmarks

  • 3 Months: Able to greet patients, schedule appointments, and assist with prior authorizations
  • 6 Months: Increased efficiency; independently scanning records and supporting additional office functions
  • 12 Months: Fully independent in all core responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and clinical practices preferred
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
