Job Description

Registration Specialist – West Hospital (Onsite)

Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: West Hospital (100% Onsite)

The Registration Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by facilitating patient flow, managing registration activities, and providing administrative support. This position serves as a central point of contact for patients, providers, and clinical staff while maintaining accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient registration and check-in/check-out
  • Verify and update insurance information
  • Manage and respond to patient messages
  • Scan and maintain patient documentation
  • Process billing sheets and collect payments as needed
  • Schedule appointments and answer incoming calls
  • Validate charges and enter information into appropriate systems
  • Collaborate daily with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) to support patient needs
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding concepts, including ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and interpretation
  • Understanding of medical terminology and clinical practices
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced patient-care environment
