Registration Specialist

Location: Neuroscience Center
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (Onsite)

The Registration Specialist plays a vital role in delivering a positive patient experience by facilitating efficient patient flow from arrival through their clinical destination. This position supports patient care by ensuring accurate registration, scheduling, financial documentation, and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment.

This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and organized while supporting a high-volume clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient flow in a timely, accurate, and professional manner

  • Greet patients and visitors, providing clear direction and assistance

  • Obtain, verify, and document patient demographic, insurance, and financial information to ensure accurate records and maximum reimbursement

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care as needed

  • Interview patients to obtain appropriate medical and financial information

  • Explain departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and charges in a clear and compassionate manner

  • Validate, enter, and maintain charges in designated systems

  • Collect payments and ensure proper documentation

  • Answer incoming calls and route inquiries to appropriate departments

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical teams and other departments to support patient-centered care

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

  • Prefer relevant experience in a health care setting.   

  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding preferred.

  • Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
