Overall Responsibilities We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Material Sourcing Specialist to efficiently source the raw materials and components essential for our production processes.
• Source and negotiate for fabrics, trims, embellishments, hardware, and other raw materials specific to apparel/accessory manufacturing. • Identify and develop reliable suppliers and vendors locally and internationally. • Evaluate supplier quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability standards. • Work closely with design, product development and quality to forecast material requirements. • Conduct market research to stay updated on material trends, innovations, and costs. • Secure best prices and lead times for materials while ensuring quality standards. • Manage approval processes i.e. lab dip approval. • coordinate with logistics to ensure timely material availability. • Maintain records of supplier contacts, pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements. • Address and resolve material quality or supply issues promptly. • Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability standards. • Perform other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Additional Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.• 3-5 years of experience in sourcing materials within the apparel or accessory industry.• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and their respective vendors.• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to analyze supplier performance and market trends effectively.• Experience with international sourcing.• Familiarity with sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.• Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing standards.• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, meticulous attention to detail.• Independent, self-motivated individuals with strong teamwork skills.• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and Excel.
