The Specialist, Quality Assurance II provides real-time quality oversight, line clearance, and documentation review throughout parenteral manufacturing operations. This includes raw material release, compounding, aseptic filling, lyophilization, inspection, labeling, and packaging. This role supports all 3rd shift operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor shop‑floor production activities to ensure compliance with cGMPs and approved procedures.
  • Perform pre‑process line clearances for manufacturing and packaging processes.
  • Observe aseptic processing behaviors and gowning practices to ensure adherence to aseptic technique standards.
  • Check that critical processes follow established procedures, including cleaning/sanitization, material transfers, and glove integrity testing.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to production personnel to reinforce compliance and best practices.
  • Identify deviations or non‑conformances during production activities and initiate QA‑Track events.
  • Resolve minor on‑floor quality issues and escalate major or critical issues to QA management promptly.
  • Conduct spot checks on batch records, logbooks, material expiration dates, and calibration dates for equipment and instruments.
  • Review batch records (MBR and EBR) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with validated and approved parameters.
  • Approve maintenance work orders and ensure equipment readiness.
  • Maintain required gowning training for Grade C/D and gowning qualification for Grade A/B.
  • Other activities and duties assigned by Quality Management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health‑science discipline
  • 3+ years in a Quality Operations role.
  • Previous aseptic gowning training preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cGMPs and aseptic processing requirements.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours (overnight).
  • Possible weekend, holiday, or overtime work depending on manufacturing schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the manufacturing floor.
  • Frequent movement between production areas, cleanrooms, packaging lines, and documentation stations
  • Ability to lift or move materials up to ~20lbs occasionally (e.g., batch records, small equipment, or materials for inspection).
  • Ability to wear full cleanroom gowning (Grade A/B/C/D) including:
  • Work in controlled cleanroom environments with strict temperature, humidity, and contamination controls.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise, equipment operation, and disinfectants/sanitizing agents.
  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours (overnight).
  • Possible weekend, holiday, or overtime work depending on manufacturing schedules.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring,basesalary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and isdeterminedusing a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $76,831 to $92,000 which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities,educationand primary work location. If hired to work 3rd shift in this role, the pay differential will be 20%. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.
