Job Title: Specialist Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist

Banding: Band 6 or Band 7 (depending on experience)

Department: Children’s Therapies – Community

Location: Green Wrythe Lane, Epsom & St Helier

Contract Type: Locum

Working Pattern: Monday–Friday

Pulse is recruiting an experienced Specialist Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist to join the Children’s Community Therapy Service based at Green Wrythe Lane, within the Epsom & St Helier service. This role is ideal for clinicians with strong paediatric experience, particularly in dysphagia, complex communication needs, and AAC.

You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering high‑quality assessment and intervention for children with a wide range of developmental and complex needs across community clinics, homes, and educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist assessment and intervention for children with: – Dysphagia – Complex communication needs – AAC requirements
  • Manage a varied paediatric caseload across community settings
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, and MDT colleagues
  • Contribute to service development and pathway improvement
  • Provide supervision and support to junior SLTs and assistants
  • Maintain accurate, high‑quality clinical documentation

Requirements

  • HCPC‑registered Speech & Language Therapist
  • Strong paediatric clinical experience
  • Skills in dysphagia, complex needs, and/or AAC
  • Ability to work independently within a community setting
  • Excellent communication and MDT collaboration skills
  • Experience supervising junior staff (desirable)
