Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a Specialist Operator / Mill Operator to join our team at Fulton Hogan. In this role, you’ll operate specialist plant and machinery to help deliver asphalt and paving work safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in doing good work, values safety, and enjoys being part of a team that backs each other. You’ll be trusted to get stuck in, bring a steady head to site, and help keep work moving. At Fulton Hogan, titles matter less than ideas, and good work speaks for itself.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently operate mill plant and machinery safely, efficiently, and in line with the daily work activities.
  • Complete plant checks, basic maintenance, and accurate records before and during operation.
  • Follow safety, quality, and environmental processes, and speak up when something does not look right.
  • Work closely with your foreperson and site crew to deliver work to the required standard and timeframe.
  • Look for better, safer ways of working and contribute positively across the team.

  • Experience operating plant and machinery in asphalt and paving, or roading and construction environments.
  • A strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, and following site procedures.
  • A proactive, reliable approach and willingness to learn and build skills.
  • Class 2 and 4 licences, and W, T, R endorsements a must, class 5 we can help you gain.
  • A team-focused attitude, practical problem-solving skills, and pride in a job done well.
