Engineering Specialist Mine Infrastructure – Infrastructure Maintenance
About your role
We are seeking a Engineering Specialist Mine Infrastructure to join our Underground Maintenance Team, supporting the delivery and ongoing performance of a world‑class underground mine in Mongolia. This is a key role within the owner’s team, responsible for supporting the maintenance, reliability, and upgrades of underground production infrastructure.
The scope of this role includes all aspects of underground infrastructure, notably:
The role will assist in the coordination of the scope development, project schedule, engineering design, tender packages and evaluation, component procurement, contractor management for the infrastructure Improvements and maintenance for the underground Fixed Plant Department.
The role shall ensure that the designs and fabrication are compliant with the Oyu Tolgoi health and safety systems and procedures, ensuring designs and fabricated components are completed to the required standard, quality and international best practices.
Working within the Infrastructure team (Maintenance and Engineering team) and reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Maintenance you will assist and lead the following;

Where you’ll be working
Oyu Tolgoi is an operating Copper / Gold open pit mine with a brownfields underground mining project. The site is located in the Gobi Desert region of Mongolia. The reserves case for the underground project is in the order of 0.5 billion tonnes of ore to be mined from the 95,000 tonnes per day Hugo North Lift 1 (HNL1) panel cave mine with a 20-year operations life. There is also the potential for 3 further block cave districts to increase mine life beyond 100 years.
