Specialist, Manufacturing PerformanceThe Role: Manufacturing Performance Specialist
The Manufacturing Performance Specialist is responsible for driving operational discipline, improving manufacturing performance, and ensuring consistent execution on the production floor. This role strengthens daily operational routines, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and supports the organization in achieving performance targets, especially during periods of capacity expansion. This is an individual contribute role but works heavily in a cross functional collaboration.
What You’ll Do:
• Enforce manufacturing standards, SOP adherence, and operational discipline across all shifts.
• Conduct daily Gemba walks to identify gaps, ensure compliance, and drive corrective actions.
• Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement (CIP) and Kaizen activities focused on waste elimination, OEE improvement, and throughput optimization. Operations Kaizen lead.
• Assess manual workflows and develop systematic processes.
• Support line balancing, bottleneck identification, and performance analysis to meet output targets.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors to ensure consistent execution of standard work and best practices.
• Drive 5S+ Safety sustainment and implement visual management systems.
• Support the seamless adoption of digital transformation and new manufacturing technologies by ensuring changes of the technology, processes and culture are well implemented across the area.
• Provide coaching and training to operators to build a culture of operational excellence. Balance short-term production needs with long-term strategic deliverables.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Evaluate and streamline existing manual workflows across production and warehouse operations, and partner with supervisors to transition these workflows into standardized, system-driven processes.
• Deliver hands-on and assist with on-the-line training for new production operators, focusing on common error points and critical‑to‑quality (CTQ) steps to ensure consistent operational performance.
• Support digital business transformation initiatives that improve process capability, productivity, and value realization.
What We Seek:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on engineering experience preferred.
• Experience in volume manufacturing environments in a global company preferred
• Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence methodologies.
• Prior involvement in capacity expansion, production ramp-up, or performance stabilization projects.
• A strong balance of independence and teamwork, with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written as well as documentation capabilities.
• Proficiency in SAP ERP systems, especially BOMs, routings, and documentation.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet divisional goals.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations focusing on plastic injection molding or assembly.
• Hands-on experience with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and standard work.
• Ability to influence, enforce, and coach within a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production data and trends.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across shifts and functions.
