The person in this position is responsible for managing improvement projects and engineering changes in collaboration with various functions across the organization. Through analysis and disciplined execution, the incumbent contributes to the implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions aimed at improving safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability of products and processes.

As Specialist, Manufacturing Improvement, you must be able to

• Coordinate all types of engineering changes (obsolescence, quality improvement, cost reduction, new supplier qualification, new product specifications, regulatory compliance, etc.) as specified in PR201.
• Contribute to the optimization of existing products through value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) initiatives aimed at cost reduction and product lifecycle improvement, including design optimization, component rationalization, tolerance adjustments, sourcing optimization, and packaging improvement.
• Coordinate improvement projects identified according to company priorities.
• Participate in root cause analyses to properly identify the solutions to be implemented.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Create and revise various production and engineering documents.
• Participate in the design of production tools.
• Plan work and monitor activities to ensure deliverables are completed according to priorities.
• Follow the established list of priorities.
• Act as the key point person in the execution of assigned engineering changes.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of the function.
• Work closely with Operations, R&D, Service, and Application resources.
• Complete the ongoing training required as part of the role.
• Demonstrate versatility in responding to unexpected changes while maintaining a high level of service.
• Take into account corporate objectives related to cost reduction, product quality improvement, and employee safety.

What makes you an asset to our team

• College diploma (DEC) or university degree (Bachelor’s) in Industrial Engineering, Physical Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Customer-oriented with a strong customer service mindset.

• Thoroughness, autonomy, versatility, and agility.
• Strong time management skills.
• Excellent organizational and priority management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA (an asset).
