As a Specialist Macronutrient Physiology at Nestlé Research, you will be part of the Metabolic Health team within the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) and your mission will be to provide scientific expertise in nutrition physiology to help develop nutrition-based health solutions and translate mechanistic insight into actionable dietary recommendations and intervention concepts. You’ll make a difference by collaborating closely with cross-functional scientists and technical teams across Nestlé Research, Nutrition & Health and other R&D centers. How you’ll make an impact as a Specialist Macronutrient Physiology

  • Developing and executing cross-business research that advances understanding of macro- and micronutrient metabolism and nutrient quality.
  • Analyzing and interpreting clinical & pre-clinical data on linking diet and metabolism to generate high-quality hypotheses and mechanistic insight.
  • Strengthening the scientific evidence of on macro- micronutrient quality by moving from observed clinical correlations to causal modes of action & physiological mechanisms across populations and life stages.
  • Designing and contributing to innovative nutrient-based intervention concepts, techniques, and research approaches that support breakthrough innovation.
  • Translating scientific outputs into actionable recommendations, innovation inputs, and robust intellectual property support aligned to R&D priorities.
  • Communicating and networking internally and externally through publications, presentations, and partnerships that build credibility and accelerate impact.

What will make you successful

  • Bringing a PhD and 4–6 years of scientific experience in macro- and micronutrient quality and metabolism, linked to dietary recommendations and/or human physiology.
  • Using clinical trial and nutrition-intervention insight to strengthen mechanistic evidence and translate findings into clear recommendations for new product and/or communication development.
  • Leveraging systems biology thinking and data interpretation skills to connect dietary context, metabolism, and downstream health outcomes.
  • Collaborating confidently across an academic-industry environment to align stakeholders, guide contributions, and deliver on shared milestones.
  • Communicating fluently in English.
  • Bringing collaboration, fresh thinking, bold questions, respect, and a positive, wellbeing-oriented mindset.
