The Lean Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a lean enterprise transformational initiative that will produce immediate, measurable results and action-oriented base plan for continuous improvement throughout the entire organization. The Lean Specialist consults with the business leaderships on ways to improve quality, customer service, safety, and reduce overall costs of operating. The Lean Specialist uses tools such as 5S, ToC, Six Sigma, GS, TPM, Standard Work, Flow Cell, Visual Controls, and other techniques.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Assist business leaderships in the planning development and coordination of improvement plans for effective and sustainable cost saving initiatives.
Develop a lean enterprise roadmap by engaging leadership involvement, team building exercise technique and mapping out a value stream chain process between current state and sustainable future state.
Use lean and constraints management integrated approach to assist leader, manager, and end-user to understand lean transformation and the use of various lean tools, concept design, value stream map (VSM), strategic gap analysis, and system-level constraint analysis (ToC).
Conduct on-site workshops, kaizen events and providing lean training throughout entire facility.
Eliminate waste and complexity in the process - improve cycle time and increase throughput.
Improve safety, quality delivery and cost in internal businesses as well as the supply chain and customer processes by utilizing LSS tools, concepts and practices.
Ensure compliance with ISO and assigned governmental and divisional quality policies, programs, plans, procedures and applies them consistently and accurately.
Institute LEAN methodologies by establishing and managing process metrics and data analysis.
Evaluate existing machinery and processes to recommend improvements that enhance both operator performance and ergonomics/safety of the overall operation.
Maintains and executes site lean implementation and operational excellence program.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Successful candidate must be able to effectively utilize resources that are not directly under her / his control to achieve both individual and team goals.
Working knowledge of Lean tools (Standard work, 5S, VSM, ToC, SMED, Poke yoke, hijunka, etc.) and the Toyota Production System preferred.
Hands-on experience implementing Lean in manufacturing and transactional areas preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industrial Engineering or supply chain discipline preferred. Minimum 5-7 years experience in aviation MRO strongly preferred. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing desired.
