The Specialist, Leadership Development is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering manager and leadership development training courses and programs that build leadership capability and support the agency’s talent strategy. This role leads the end-to-end management of strategic leadership programs including mentorship, coaching, and high-potential development. The Specialist partners closely with Talent Development, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and business leaders to deliver impactful, scalable leadership development experiences and facilitate learning for leaders and key talent.

Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by ensuring staff follows safety and security policies, considers safety in every action, and ensures safety and security concerns are reported.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education in lieu of a degree.
Six (6) years of relevant experience, preferably in training & leadership development or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced facilitation and presentation skills for leadership audiences.
Ability to influence others, including peers, partners, and leaders, to identify and deliver effective learning solutions.
Ability to perform as an effective team player and assume role of team leader as needed.
Demonstrated effectiveness in communication skills, including writing, speaking, negotiation and presentation/platform skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in writing, presentation, meeting and facilitation skills, interpersonal communication, time management, conflict resolution and investigation skills.
Proficient in using business and communications software including Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Oracle, and other modules as needed.
Ability to be adaptable and flexible.
Ability and willingness to deliver training during non-traditional hours as needed.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. This position works with multiple project timelines and is responsible for managing employees performing work of a complex nature.
Incumbent must be able to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use and horizontally. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment. Incumbents must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions.

Mobility Status:
As a Hybrid position, onsite presence is guided by team collaboration needs, customer and front-line team member interactions, and role responsibilities. People leaders will set expectations for onsite presence; however, incumbents are generally encouraged to work 8 to 12 days in office per month. Mobility status is subject to change at any time based on business needs or organizational decisions.
