Job Description

At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you—the unique, authentic you—to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

About the role

As ATB’s next Specialist II, Processing Operations, you will play a key role in both strategic initiatives and daily operations related to Trading, Credit, and Internal Transfers within the ATB Wealth Operations team. You will foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver client-obsessed solutions. Over this 12-month term, you will serve as a subject matter expert in exception processing, act as a citizen developer supporting our robotics solutions, optimize operational workflows, and advance strategic and regulatory initiatives to adapt to changing industry requirements. Reporting to the Manager of Operations, your work will directly mitigate operational risk, improve processing efficiency, and elevate the service experience for our advisory partners and clients.

Who are you?

Analytical. Curious. Collaborative. You are a forward-thinking problem solver with a passion for optimizing processes and leveraging technology to make things better. You thrive in bridging the gap between business operations and technical systems. With strong critical thinking skills and an eye for efficiency, you enjoy digging into complex data, building automated solutions, and helping your team navigate operational and regulatory change. In this role, you will be a master problem solver—driving process efficiencies across the team while collaborating directly with developers, product owners, and advisory partners to deliver exceptional experiences for our clients.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, analyze, and build Robotics Process Automation (RPA) and workflow solutions to streamline operational efficiency across our team’s processes.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and implement effective process or system enhancements to support business growth and adapt to evolving regulatory and industry standards.
  • Support the seamless adoption of regulatory and industry changes by updating operational workflows, guiding implementation, and ensuring continuous compliance across processing teams.
  • Maintain deep operational expertise across key wealth management platforms, including Fundserv, Dataphile, CDS, and Salesforce.
  • Assess and document operational procedures, perform robust impact assessments, and lead change management activities by analyzing multi-system data and translating findings into actionable plans.
  • Evaluate complex, high-risk, or ambiguous situations objectively; weigh strategic options and deliver data-backed recommendations.
  • Act as a key point of contact for advisors and internal partners, delivering clear communication and resolving complex or escalated operational inquiries with a strong risk management focus.
  • Coach and train junior team members on updated compliance regulations, new technical tools, and optimized processing procedures.
  • Partner with developers, product owners, leadership, and external stakeholders to articulate operational recommendations and advance strategic business goals.
  • Support Operations leadership by proactively anticipating business needs, evaluating emerging technology trends, and applying core technical capabilities to advance both daily tasks and strategic objectives.

Skills, experience & requirements

  • Practical exposure or strong aptitude for citizen developer tools, robotics process automation (RPA), or systems analysis.
  • Applied understanding of project methodology, requirements gathering, and test script execution.
  • Intermediate to advanced technical proficiency, including strong hands-on experience with Dataphile, Fundserv, CDS and the Google Suite.
  • Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset—you are naturally compelled to make processes better.
  • Proven ability to work under high-pressure situations to deliver results while managing competing priorities.
  • You are client obsessed, a champion of belonging, and driven to perform
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of effectively facilitating team training and updates.
  • 3–5 years of experience within the financial services/securities industry, with specific knowledge of wealth operations processes.
  • Post-secondary education in business, information systems, or equivalent industry experience are an asset.

Don’t meet all the requirements on the list?

A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role—but you might not check all the boxes—we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.

We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed—their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
